In a statement made by the Infertility Combat Research and Solidarity Association (İMAD-DER), which brings together families struggling with infertility in Turkey, it was noted that while the interfertility rate is 24 percent worldwide, this rate has reached 20 percent in Turkey.
In a statement made by İMAD-DER, the only civil society organization operating in the field of 'infertility' throughout the country, it was emphasized that the families with the lowest divorce rates according to research are infertile families who are often unable to have children but hold on to each other with love, devotion and patience, and it was noted that becoming a family is possible with mutual love, solidarity and sacrifice, and it was stated that "While today it is 24 percent worldwide and the infertility rate has reached 20 percent in our country, infertile families have been deprived of state support for years despite this serious health and social problem; drugs excluded from the scope of SGK, disease reports that can be obtained with difficulty and our solution suggestions that are left without response make the treatment processes of these families even more difficult."
The statement continued by arguing that while the decrease in the population growth rate on the country's agenda was being discussed, it was argued that the failure to give due importance to an important issue such as infertility was a concrete indicator of the wrongness of policy priorities. The statement, which requested that the discounts made for newlyweds and families with children in the field of transportation also include infertile families who have been waiting for years to have children, included the following statements: "Our requests to work in cooperation with the relevant institutions and to form a joint commission for the solution of all these problems have not been met in any way. As İMAD-DER, we reiterate our call once again: Infertile families are not alone. They want to be seen, heard and supported. We invite all relevant institutions, especially the Ministry of Health, to observe the rights of infertile families and to take concrete steps in this regard."
